It’s the middle of winter, and it’s too chilly for chickens. Confined to his coop, one nameless chicken decides to venture out into the unknown in attempts to follow a squirrel. His course is quickly derailed, and he finds himself out in the woods by himself. This zine is a lighthearted adventure for readers of all ages. The pictorial storytelling relies only on the occasional implied sound. The non-existent dialogue and frequent use of onomatopoeia gives this zine a unique feel, conveying emotion through expression and illustration. The limited black and white color palette creates a cold atmosphere which strengthens the overall theme.
